Of the 98 samples sent from Nagaland to National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani,West Bengal for genome sequencing 93 of them revealed the presence of Delta variant. Two cases of Kappa variant and one case of Alpha variant were also detected. The health department has advised the citizens to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols as this variant is more infectious and has stressed for the need of vaccination.
