Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Assam Rifles conducted a successful operation near the Myanmar border in Nagaland’s Mon district, resulting in the recovery of a substantial cache of military-grade arms, ammunition, and war-like stores.

According to the Defence PRO, the operation, launched early Monday morning, led to the arrest of one individual. The seized items included 11 Mortar tubes (81 mm), 4 Tubes (106 mm), 10 Pistols, 198 Hand Held Radio Sets, a satellite phone, a Kenbo bike, a Bolero vehicle, and other war-like equipment.
The Defence official hailed the operation as a significant success in the ongoing border sealing efforts by the Assam Rifles. The recovery dealt a severe blow to the sinister intentions of disruptive elements seeking to destabilize the region.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the official emphasized that the recovered military-grade weapons and the large quantity of Hand Held Radio Sets underscored the potential for substantial harm posed by these items. The accused individual, along with the seized items, was promptly handed over to the Nagaland Police for further investigation.
The Defence PRO commended the vigilant troops of Assam Rifles for their role in thwarting the nefarious plans of unlawful elements, thereby safeguarding national security interests and maintaining peace in the region.
