In response to allegations from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s diet, his lawyer, Vivek Jain, has dismissed the claims, asserting that the agency is attempting to deprive him of home-cooked meals.

Kejriwal’s Lawyer Dismisses ED’s Claims on Diet

Jain emphasized that Kejriwal strictly adheres to the prescribed diet recommended by his doctors. The ED had accused Kejriwal of intentionally consuming items such as mangoes, sweets, and sugar to manipulate his blood sugar levels for bail purposes.

Currently held in judicial custody at Tihar jail over a money laundering case, Kejriwal has filed an application in court requesting continuous monitoring of his sugar levels and permission to consult his doctor. In response, the court has requested a medical report on his dietary regimen and postponed the hearing.

Amidst these developments, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been vocally demanding Kejriwal’s resignation, though he remains steadfast in his position as Chief Minister. Additionally, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking authorization for Kejriwal to conduct official meetings via video conferencing from jail.
