This decision facilitates their participation in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Samaj, underscoring the state’s commitment to supporting and respecting diverse spiritual practices.

The General Administration Department of Assam issued a notification on Sunday, revealing that this leave applies to March 11 and 12, allowing devotees among the government employees ample opportunity to engage in the festivities. This gesture of accommodation reflects the government’s recognition of the importance of such cultural and religious events in fostering community and spiritual well-being among its citizens.

The Golden Jubilee celebration, a significant milestone for the Eksharon Bhagawati Samaj, commenced in Assam’s Morigaon district and is scheduled to conclude on March 12. The event marks fifty years of the Samaj’s establishment and contributions to the spiritual and social landscape of the region.

The notification explicitly states, “The Governor of Assam is pleased to allow Special Casual Leave for two days i.e., on 11th & 12th March, 2024 to the State Government employees who are the followers of Eksharon Bhagawati Samaj to attend the Golden Jubilee scheduled to be held at Morigaon from 10th to 12th March, 2024.”

This provision of special leave is an exemplary act of inclusivity, ensuring that employees can partake in their religious community’s landmark celebration without the concern of professional obligations. It highlights the Assam Government’s approach towards recognizing and honoring the cultural and spiritual diversity within its workforce, promoting harmony and inclusiveness in the broader societal fabric.
