The Meghalaya government is building the ‘Tagore Cultural Complex’ in memory of Rabindranath Tagore, a Nobel laureate.
The complex, located in Shillong, aims to become a global cultural centre connecting Meghalaya, Bangladesh, and West Bengal.
The Minister of Arts and Culture, Paul Lyngdoh, laid the foundation and highlighted Shillong’s historical ties with Tagore and other eminent personalities.
The complex, featuring a private space once used by Tagore, will serve as a platform for local and global cultural exchange, promoting Tagore’s philosophy of transcending ethnic identities.
