Man Arrested for Stealing Mahindra Thar
The incident occurred in Sector 63 on Saturday, and the vehicle has been successfully recovered. Identified as Mohit Chawla, the accused failed to return the car after the test drive, prompting the plaintiff to file a complaint with the local police station.
This isn’t the first time Chawla has been involved in such cases, as he has previously faced charges in similar incidents in both Delhi and Noida.
“An FIR was lodged under IPC section 379 (theft) and an investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of the accused from Block C of Sector 63 today (Sunday). The Thar was also recovered from his possession,” the spokesperson said.
The police spokesperson reported that Mohit Chawla, the accused, had a history of engaging in similar criminal activities. Chawla’s arrest came after the plaintiff reported the vehicle’s disappearance to the authorities. Chawla’s modus operandi involved taking vehicles for test drives and then absconding with them, leaving the owners stranded. This latest arrest adds to his record of prior offences in both Delhi and Noida, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance against such fraudulent activities.
