Sarma emphasized the crucial role of educating women in empowering a community, underlining the direct correlation between female education and social progress.

In addition to free admission and financial support for college-bound girls, Sarma announced further incentives for existing female students. College students will receive Rs 12,000, while university students will be granted Rs 15,000, providing ongoing support throughout their academic journey. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting gender equality and creating opportunities for women to pursue higher education without financial constraints.

The announcement was made during a Land Patta distribution ceremony, where CM Sarma highlighted the significance of empowering indigenous communities through land rights under Mission Basundhara 2.0. By addressing both educational and land rights issues, the government aims to foster inclusive development and uplift marginalized communities across Assam. CM Sarma’s initiative marks a significant step towards ensuring equal access to education and economic opportunities for girls, laying the foundation for a more equitable and prosperous future in the state.
