Members of the Karbi community in India have made history by breaking a Guinness World Record, showcasing their cultural heritage and unity in a remarkable feat. Organized by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council during the 50th Karbi Youth Festival in Assam, 721 participants adorned in traditional attire formed a line stretching an impressive 1.24 miles while walking on stilts.

Their ten-minute journey surpassed the previous record, establishing them as the longest-moving line of people walking on stilts. Stilt walking, known as Kang Dong Dang, holds profound significance within the Karbi culture, symbolizing tradition and resilience.

Rajeshan Terang, ACS secretary for the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, emphasized that the record-breaking achievement was more than just a milestone; it was a celebration of their cultural heritage and collective strength. Terang highlighted the vibrancy and unity of the Karbi people, inspiring pride across generations.
