In a stunning revelation, Bengaluru traffic police have uncovered a startling ₹3.2 lakh fine associated with a two-wheeler registered to a resident of Sudhamanagar in the city. The revelation has sent shockwaves through the community, underscoring the pressing need for stringent enforcement of traffic laws and adherence to road safety measures.

Bengaluru Traffic Police’s action: Massive Fines and Detentions Prompt Urgent Call for Compliance

Reports reveal that the scooter in question has accumulated a staggering 350 violations over recent months, spanning infractions such as driving in the wrong lane, failure to wear a helmet, and even engaging in mobile device usage while operating the vehicle.

Despite the gravity of the situation, the owner has expressed difficulty in addressing the ₹3.2 lakh fine, citing the scooter’s market value at a mere ₹30,000 in the secondhand market. However, authorities have extended an olive branch by offering an installment payment option, while issuing a stern warning of potential consequences should the outstanding fines remain unresolved. Failure to comply could lead to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR), signaling a dire predicament for the scooter owner.

This alarming incident shines a spotlight on a broader issue that Bengaluru police have grappled with in the past. Just recently, a similar scenario unfolded with another two-wheeler accumulating 99 pending charges, resulting in the detention of its owner and subsequent revocation of their driving license.

Regrettably, such cases are not isolated incidents. In August, another individual attempted to evade payment of ₹13,850 in pending traffic fines, further emphasizing the need for proactive enforcement measures. Prompted by these occurrences, Bengaluru police are intensifying their efforts to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.
