The Kamrup (Metro) district management sought a much clear clarification from the 5-star hotel wherein arrested model Rajkanya Baruah had allegedly attended a party before leaving the hotel and then hitting 8 roadside employees with her speeding car on October 2 night time leaving them significantly injured.
After the hotel management of the hotel was requested to publish an in-depth report by the district management concerning the occurrences of that night, it had filed a response to the metro district management on Monday.
Statement by DC Rajkanya Baruah’s case
Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu said, “We have received the reply but there are still several queries that need to be answered properly. We are going to send them our queries today and expect a reply within the next 24 hours.”
Hotel Management yet to answer important question
He stated that even though the hotel management has already cooperated with them with all the questions asked concerning the celebration and its attendance, it was yet to answer the most important question in which it was alleged that the party had persisted given the time by the government.
“They had taken permission for the party but we want to know whether the party had continued beyond 9 PM and if yes why,” Pegu added.
The state of Assam is currently under a seven-hour night curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM, the next day.
Baruah was allegedly driving her car at an excessive speed in a “drunk condition” after allegedly attending a birthday celebration in a 5-star hotel and hitting the employees near the Rukminigaon area.
Rajkanya Baruah re-arrested
Even though Rajkanya Baruah’s was granted a bail-in less than 12 hours, large outrage was brought about thereafter following which town police re-arrested her on October 6, from a private hospital wherein she was allegedly trying to get away from police interrogation. A clinical board later showed that she changed into the match to seem earlier than the research officers.
She was sent to judicial custody on October 8.
