Assam Government to distribute more than 5 lakh houses to all the people who fall under the PMAY-G Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin scheme. The announcement was made on Tuesday and the distribution will be conducted on Thursday.

As per reports, the BJP led government of Assam will be distributing the houses to the beneficiaries on Thursday in the Jorhat District of Assam in presence of the Rural Development Minister, and the Panchayati Raj Department.
The Minister of Panchayat ad Rural Development, Ranjit Kumar Das said, “The centre has granted 7 lakh houses under PMAY-G Scheme for the year 2021-22 of which 5.10 lakh houses will be allotted on 19th of May in Jorhat.”
In addition, the Minister also mentioned that such an initiative has been made for the first time in Assam, wherein an estimated budget of Rs 1657.50 crore has been allotted.
The houses that are usually built under that PMAY-G scheme are of low cost and give importance to socio-economic and geo-climatic factors.
