The swearing ceremony of the newly inducted MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah and Haflong MLA Nandita Garlosa was held on the 9th June 2022. The two MLAs sworn in as new ministers in the Himanta Biswa Sarma led Cabinet and new portfolios were assigned.
As per reports, Garlosa is the first lady minister from Dima Hasao to be inducted into the state cabinet.
Portfolios assigned to the inducted MLAs
The report further states that Jayanta Malla Baruah has been given the portfolio of Tourism, Public Health and Engineering, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. On the other hand, Nandita Gorlosa has been given the portfolio of power, cooperation, mines and minerals and indigenous and tribal faith and culture departments.
The Cabinet Ministry of Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma inducted two new MLAs into his 14-member council, namely Nandita Garlosa and Jayanta Malla Baruah.
