Harrowing Attack on Assam Resident in Arunachal Pradesh
In a shocking and harrowing incident on July 14th, Raj Deka, a 20-year-old resident of Assam, was brutally attacked in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. Raj, along with his mother and relatives, had traveled to Arunachal Pradesh for a holiday weekend, which took a terrifying turn after witnessing a roadside accident.
A Simple Act of Help Turns Dangerous
Traveling in two cars, Raj’s group saw an accident on their way. Concerned about safety in the dark, Raj asked his mother’s car to continue while he stayed back to offer assistance. However, the situation quickly escalated as the accident victim fled, and armed locals arrived, turning the scene into a nightmare.
Assault and Captivity
Raj and his companions were confronted by locals armed with traditional weapons, including a ‘Boti.’ Despite his desperate pleas and attempts to explain that he was just a tourist from Guwahati, Raj was severely beaten. Captive for nearly two hours, Raj managed to call his mother for help, fearing for their lives. He said in English, “Please call the Police, they will kill us,” sparking immediate action from his mother’s influential contacts.
