The State Health Department of Assam has set a target to vaccinate all the people from Kamrup (M) district, who are above 18 years. The department has also decided to get it done by August 31st, 2021.
What has the Minister said?
Talking to the media Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said that if the people of Guwahati do not follow the COVID-19 protocols, then the situation can be frightful in the metropolitan city.
We have set the target of vaccinating all people by August 31. We are using 1,204 polling booths of Guwahati as data points. Every Booth Level Officer, an ASHA and a local citizen has started the vaccination drive by visiting door-to-door. It will continue till August 23.

A toll free number given
Besides this, a toll free number was also given which can be used if any person missed out from taking the vaccine to give a missed call to this number. The Health Department will assist the person while providing the vaccine slot, date and venue.
Rules for the the retailers
The Minister has also said “From now, every shop and shopping mall will have to display a self-declaration certificate of vaccination. Officials from the district administration will physically verify them. The entire vaccination drive will go on under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner”.
