In February, a couple from Tamil Nadu will hold a Hogwarts-themed wedding reception in Metaverse. Dinesh S P and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy will marry in their hamlet of Sivalingapuram, but will hold a digital reception at a virtual site where friends and relatives from all around the world will attend.

According to a report by The Indian Express, Dinesh said that he came up with the concept. “We are the first couple to marry in Metaverse in the United States.” I’ve been working on blockchain for a year, therefore I’m more knowledgeable about it and Crypto. “Metaverse is a blockchain-based technology,” he explained.

The idea

“I came upon a video on Metaverse on YouTube one lovely day. Why can’t we hold an event in Metaverse, I reasoned? I’m aware that the Metaverse’s future is bright. Microsoft, Facebook, and a slew of other corporations are now investing in Metaverse. So I reasoned that by holding an event, everyone in India would be aware of the technology. Dinesh, a project associate at IIT Madras, adding, “We may work on a start-up and develop it.”

Although the bride’s father passed away in April, Dinesh intends to attend the reception in his digital avatar. “In April of last year, my girlfriend’s father passed away. I’d like to catch her off guard. I’ve been planning to bring him in digitally and include him in the festivities.

Bride’s excitement

According to The Indian Express, Janaganandhini, a Potter fan, is looking forward to the special day’s Hogwarts theme. “At first, I didn’t grasp what he was saying regarding the Metaverse event. It was unfamiliar territory for me. “I was completely taken aback,” the TCS employee said.

“I was unsure whether that would be doable. I inquired as to why it couldn’t be done in the community. I asked him if it would be done in the conventional fashion, how people would join, what they would wear, and so on. I haven’t fully grasped the notion at this point. “I’m hoping it will be a success,” Janaganandhini remarked.

The metaverse project is being spearheaded by TardiVerse, a Chennai-based start-up run by Vignesh Selvaraj. It was created using the Polygon Technology Blockchain.

“People will use the website to log in.” They have the option of selecting an avatar. The couple’s avatars, as well as those of their family and friends, have already been created. The pair will be streamed on camera, and visitors will be able to converse with one another. Based on the couple’s proposal, the Harry Potter theme was chosen. Tradiverse’s CEO, Vignesh Selvaraj, stated, “If someone wants to create an event in an Indian equivalent, we are up for it.”

“On January 25, a demonstration will be held for people who are not technologically savvy. It’s simple to use. A desktop, laptop, or tablet can be used to log in. We’ve been getting a lot of proposals since the Metaverse wedding banquet went viral. “We’re arranging an event for the forthcoming Valentine’s Day,” Selvaraj said.

The Metaverse is a virtual world made up of digital representations of people, places, and objects. In other words, it’s a “digital world” where digital items represent real people.
