Itanagar: On Tuesday, the first ever expedition was successfully culminated by the Arunachal Pradesh Kayak and Canoe Association( APKCA) down the Yamne river upper siang district thereby giving a major boost adventure sports and tourism. The APKCA states that Yamne river topping the best among rivers for kayaking equivalent to kaituma river in New Zealand.
Reportedly, the team spent one whole night in a rescue mission after a kayaker went missing at Sijon Hells of Door Rapid following the kayak and raft flip in a major accident. Missing kayaker was later rescued.
Additionally, according to APKCA, Yamne river offers one of the best kayaking spots in the world like Kaituna river of New Zealand, Sognefjord of Western Norway, Saint Charles river Quebec of Canada etc.
