Cotton University final year students of Department of Mass Communication, Journalism and Media Studies perform a street play on substance abuse.
The first scene portrayed a drunk man in a family and how it affects all the other members and the house as a whole. The scene described how the insincerity and unnecessary fights at home and outside disturbs the wife and children and disgusts the society entirely.
The second scene shows boys in a Boy’s PG where few boys are habituated to drinking but one is a decent boy. The other boys exploit the decent one and soon he starts following their path. He goes too deep in this and start asking money from parents by lying to them.

In third scene a young boy starts taking drugs and becomes an addict soon. And when his parents do not offer him money he raises his hand onto them. His Father gets conscious thinking what will the neighbors think of all the shouting and quarrelling at home.
In fourth scene, a girl is portrayed helpless as she wants to recover from the addiction but do not know how to do it. Then the Rehabilitation Centre is shown where people are treated free without any cost.
The play was performed by the students of Cotton University at Zoo Road, Cotton Collegiate, Uzanbazaar, Ganeshguri and few other places in Guwahati.
