In 1386, a particularly nasty pig was tried for the murder of a child in Falaise, Normandy, France.
Those trying the hog determined it was guilty and sentenced it to be “mangled and maimed in the head and forelegs, and then to be hanged.”
It was even dressed in a man’s clothes as it was trotted into the public square and hanged.
