A pall of gloom has descended in the state after news of Deepshikha Hazarika’s body being recovered was reported on October 8, after she went missing in the Himalayan region.
Parents of Deepshikha are unable to come to terms on the tragic death of their daughter. She always loved the mountains. She grew her passion when she was very young.
She ended in the arms of mother nature. It is mentioned that Deepshikha Hazarika was part of a mountaineering trainee team consisting of 41-members from the Uttarkashi-based NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering).
It was reported that they were returning with their instructors after climbing the Draupadi Ka Danda-II peak in Uttarakhand‘s Uttarkashi district as part of their advanced training course on October 4 when they were hit by an avalanche.
