The world is filled with brands. A brand, in simpler terms is a concept of marketing which can be anything like a name, a design or a symbol that would help perceive consumers a particular seller’s good while differentiating itself from another.

In India too, like anywhere else, the whole country is filled with brands snd their endorsements. One can see it everywhere strating from huge advertisement hoardings to the internet.

Among such brands, there a few in India which sounds absolutely international but are actually Indian. Today, we will be talking about 5 such brands of India.

Jaguar

For car enthusiasts, this name is a pretty familiar one. Being one of the most luxurious car brand, this was known as Jaguar Land Rover in past as it was owned by a British origin car manufacturer which had their headquarters in Whitley, England. Then, thanks to Mr Ratan Tata, Tata Motors acquired the brand in 2008 and eventually became known as Jaguar Land Rover Ltd.

This brand clearly signifies the Indian people’s fascination for western names and objects. However, in the name ‘Peter England’, England has nothing to do with the brand. This brand is actually a part of Madurai Fashion style run with the partnership of Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd.

Louis Phillipe

As foreign as it sounds, this brand too actually belongs to India. The fact that the brand’s name was inspired from French king Louis Phillipe (1830-1848) is lesser known. The brand is also owned by Madurai Fashion style and was launched in the year 1989.

Royal Enfield

A brand that holds the emotions of thousands of Indians. For the people that can afford motorbikes from this brand, it is a household name. Royal Enfield happens to be a British Motorcycle company in the past. Now it owned by an Indian automaker company Eicher Motors Limited.

And those who has the knowledge, surely knows about the gruesome exploitation that had taken place in British-Colonial era. And in the present day, the same company is owned by Sanjiv Mehta, an Indian businessman. This company now manages the supply of high-end luxury items across the globe.

A renowned automaker of India TVS is actually a group of initials of its founder’s name Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundram Iyengar from Chennai.

Amul

This brand name is also actually a collection of initials from the brands full name. The complete name of the Gujarat based brand is Anand Milk Union Limited.

Tanishq

This famous jwellery brand of Indian was named by Xerxex Desai. He was then the Vice Chairman & Mamaging Director of Titan Industries. If bifurcated the name it is seen that, the ‘Ta’ is taken from Tata and ‘Nishk’ means a piece of jwellery.
