Priyanka Chopra is now the mother of a baby girl, whom she gave birth to via surrogacy in January. Since she was born, the star has been very close to her stylist’s daughter, Krishna Sky.
However, Priyanka Chopra encountered an abandoned female kid during her childhood and asked her mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, to let the baby stay with them long before she won Miss World and went on to become an actor.
Before she was handed over to a childless couple, Priyanka carried the infant in her arms.
Priyanka Chopra’s memoir Unfinished
The story was told in Priyanka Chopra’s memoir Unfinished. It was from a period when the actress awoke one night to investigate the disturbance in her home.
“My grandmother, who had come to live with us when Sid was born, was up and speaking in a low voice to my mother, who seemed to be running around the house,” Priyanka writes in her book. “I rushed up, groggy from sleep, to see what was up and discovered Mom in the kitchen, carrying a newborn in her arms.”
She continues to say, “She told me that when she returned to her car parked on the road outside the hospital after the delivery, she heard a baby wailing. Someone had abandoned a newborn girl under the vehicle, much to her surprise, while the rain was pouring down in torrents. That night, all I wanted was for us to keep the baby, this teeny-tiny bundle wrapped in my brother’s clothes. My mother gently told me that we couldn’t.”
Priyanka claimed that her mother chose a childless couple to adopt her child. As they traveled to hand her over to the newlyweds, she held the infant in her arms.
“There was lots of legal documentation to be completed, but I was too preoccupied with holding the baby tight in my arms as we drove through the stormy night to the home of that waiting couple to notice. I’ll never forget their expressions, how the mother went to her knees in thanks, how they both cried at the miracle of a baby appearing out of nowhere during the festival Janmashtami, in the pouring rain “she wrote.
Priyanka Chopra currently resides in Los Angeles with her actor-singer husband Nick Jonas and their kid.
