The Kashmir Files by Vivek Agnihotri has landed with a massive crowd cheering in the movie theaters. In just a matter of not more than two weeks, the movie has collected more 200 crore.

The movie, stars some of the fine actors such as Anupam Kher, mithun chakraborty, pallavi joshi, darshan kumar, Amaan Iqbal and many others. In a short span of time since its release, the movie has generated a lot of sensation not only in the mainstream media but also in the political setting. At present the movie stand with a box office amount of 207 crore.
In terms of competition, the movie lies straight against RRR by SS Rajamouli. This movie stars Alia Bhatt, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan.
Many movie analyst has shared their overall financial gains on twitter. Many has also celebrated its victory of success and called it one of the best movies to be ever produced by bollywood till date.
According to the reports from India Biz, “from 3.55 cr on day 1 to 207 Cr on day 14, it has packed a historic total in 2 weeks”. The movie is hence one of the most talked about and a big time hit after the pandemic.
The Kashmir Files Controversy
Since the day of its release, the movie has been a part of a lot of controversy. There has been a large number of appreciation from the crowd as well as some calling it a movie backed by political propaganda.As the movie showcases the struggle faced by the kashmiri pandits in 1990, it definitely touches the soul of millions of those who suffered. In addition to also those who had to undergo such a traumatic experience all over again.
The Director, Vivek Agnihotri was highly praised by the audience as well as by our country’s leader to have brought about such an important film for the crowd.
Public official lands in trouble over the kashmir files
However, the movie also received a lash out b y one of the senior IAS officer, Niyaz Khan. He posted a stern remark on the film which has landed him with a lot of legal trouble.
As per the reports of the Home Minister, ” i have seen Khan’s tweets. This is a serious issue… he is crossing and violating the lakshman rekha set for the government officials… the state government will issue a show-cause notice to him and seek his reply”.
A week back, the officier wrote in his tweet stating that the producers should also make a movie on how a large number of muslims are killed in india. His remark had the capability to incite a communal riot, thus affecting the harmony of the country.
His tweet said, “The Kashmir Files shows the pain of Brahmins. They should be allowed to live safely in Kashmir with all honour. The producer must also make a movie to show the killings of large number of muslims across several states. Muslims are not insects but human beings and citizens of country.”
Arvind Kejriwal on the kashmir files
Following many such controversy, Arvind Kejriwal who is a strong opponent of the BJP Government made quite a remark to the BJP Legislator as the legislator demanded that the movie is ‘tax free’ in the state of New Delhi.
As per the reports, kejriwal said, “Why are you asking us to make it tax-free. If you are so keen, ask Vivek Agnihotri to put it on YouTube, it will be all free. Everyone will be able to see it in a day. Where is the need to make it tax free”.
Though the statement points out a soft humour on his part, but one must not forget that he was the same person to have made movies like Nil Batte Sannatta and Sand ki Aankh to be free of tax in the national capital.
