One such embodiment of strength, love and munificence is Ms. Tanya Priya from Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. Coming from a small town, belonging from Nyishi Tribe of Arunachal, where a very few people were exposed to the glam of being independent and self employed, the journey of Tanya towards achieving her dream was not an easy task. However, this young lady single- handedly proved that dreams are more than just an idea sitting in your brain while also making more than 2500 individual achieve their dreams.
Naharlagun’s Tanya Priya and her Cakes:
Tanya Priya, the founder of Cakes and Bakes Baking Academy started her entrepreneurial journey on 2018 as a home baker from a small town Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.
While giving wings to her passion and love for baking, Tanya’s focus was solely on delivering happiness and bring static smiles on the lips of her clients on their special days. But the magic of her creativity and art with the perfect blend of deliciousness gained her immense love and praise among her clients. She could craft the feelings of people on her cakes, whatever the occasion might be. This led Tanya get closer to her dream of continuing baking as a career.
Someone great anonymously said, “Cakes are not just desserts, they are the sweetness of nostalgia, the deliciousness that reminds you of the beautiful memories attached to it”. Indeed it is. A perfect mix of ingredients with the magical touch, Tanya too gave life to the memories of thousands of people of Arunachal Pradesh
over the years. With her selfless dedication and continuous hardwork, Tanya was able to win hearts of people not only from Naharlagun, but also other nooks and corners of Arunachal Pradesh.
Dreams while dreamt without self-doubting your abilities or interrupting your train of thoughts can take you to a destination that can be a contribution to the nourishment of mankind. Because dreams has the potential to hold your hand and lift you up to the stairs of success without letting fear block your path. Tanya while continuing with her passion for baking, and with the love and support of her well wishers engraved in her heart was soon able to start the first and the one and only baking Academy in Arunachal Pradesh named as “Cakes and Bakes Baking Academy” in Naharlagun.
Over the last 6 years, more than 5000 people enrolled and completed baking courses from Tanya’s Cakes and Bakes Baking
Academy successfully with much contentment. And over 2500 people irrespective of age and gender has further started their own entrepreneurial journey, now successfully running their own individual businesses.
Tanya has not only succeeded in achieving her own dreams but has also delivered strength and power to many others in fulfilling their own dreams. Starting from zero as a small home baker to giving employment opportunities to thousands of people in Arunachal Pradesh is indeed an extremely wonderful contribution to the human society.
Just as the perfect icing on her cakes, her winning of the title “Best Baker of the Year, 2024” on India’s Most Prominent Baker of the Year Awards, 2024 by Merit Awards and Market Research is nothing less that the sweet and delicious icing on the cake of her life along with being the pride of Arunachal Pradesh.
In a generation where feminism is on the verse of miss- conceptualising, woman like Tanya Priya proves that femininity is strength, femininity is embracing the power of patience, femininity is extracting the tabooed “feminine qualities”and making elixir out of it.
