Assam Government has taken a special measure to conserve and preserve the ancestral home of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala in Tezpur, Assam.
The Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma stated the initiative at a cabinet meeting on 11th June 2022.
Assam Government takes the following initiatives
As per reports, the funds taken for the construction of the flyover in Mission Chari Ali has been hiked so as to utilise the remaining amount in the redevelopment of the Baan Theatre, in Tezpur.
Moreover, it has been stated by the Assam Chief Minister that in order to beautify the Mora Bharali, a sum of Rs 15 crores has been released.
The assam government has further aimed to shift the Tezpur central jail to Chariduar. The current jail will be utilised as an auditorium having a 1000 people sitting capacity. The reports claim that these intiatives will be led under the project name of Jyoti-Bishnu-Phani Cultural.
A tweet was shared by the Chief Minister that read, “As part of our initiative to restoring the past glory of the historical city of Tezpur, the weekly Assam Cabinet held today decided on a sew of measures. I am sure these will add a new impetus to development in the city, often referred to as State’s Cultural Capital.”
