Guwahati: On December 12, AASU and many other unions organized a ceremony in memory of the people who died while protesting for CAA. According to them, it’s been a long yet they didn’t get the desired tribute.

The ceremony is going on in Hatigaon High School, Guwahati. The unions that organized the protest are Shilpi Samaj, Sado Guwahati Chatra Sanshtha, and Hatigaon Rajya. In the ceremony, there is also a slogan written “CAA Aami namanu” meaning “We won’t accept CAA”.
Black Day
On December 11, Assam the members of NESO also lifted black flags to mark Black Flag Day. The organization requested people to keep fighting against the CAA.
“On December 11, 2019, despite relentless opposition by the indigenous people of the northeast, the Government of India had passed the draconian law in Parliament,” the NESO said in a statement.
About CAA
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA which was passed on 2019 by the Parliament of India. It amended the Citizenship Act, 1955 by giving a pathway to Indian citizenship for disturbed religious minorities.
