As per the decision of Assam Cabinet on December 3, 2021, two new medical colleges will be set up in Assam.
New Medical Colleges
- Charaideo Medical College and Hospital
- Biswanath Medical College and Hospital
Finance
The new medical colleges will be financed by Assam Infrastructure Finance Agency through a term loan from NABARD.
Charaideo Medical College and Hospital will be constructed at Rs. 557cr and Biswanath Medical College and Hospital will be constructed at Rs. 564cr.
The approval was given with the initiative to strengthen medical infrastructure and boost healthcare facilities in the two districts.
Recently, construction of two medical colleges was granted approval in Guwahati.
