On Sunday, Mizoram police informed that more than 700 people from Myanmar had entered Mizoram in the past weeks. Currently, 10,025 Myanmar’s refugees are present in the Northeastern state.
The police officer mentioned that the new entrants are mostly civilians, especially pregnant women, children, and senior citizens aged about 90years. Out of 10,025 Myanmar refugees, 22 of them are officially confirmed as data added the official. The Chief Minister of Myanmar Chin state, Salai Lian Luai, is reported to have entered Mizoram on June 14.
Data from the state police states that more than 195 people from Myanmar have entered the Champhai district between June 15 and June 26. About 1,621 of them are staying in a community housing complex in Aizwal, said the report. An unnamed official states that the security forces fail to stop them as most, are pregnant women, children, and senior citizens.
