Visakhapatnam: Grade 8 students Mahalakshmi and Shaili from Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam, have earned the prestigious opportunity to participate in the 2025 Global STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Week at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. The two students will represent India as part of a four-member cohort joining 62 other students from Nord Anglia schools worldwide at MIT this November.
The selection process challenged students to devise innovative solutions to real-world problems, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and scientific aptitude. During the programme, they will collaborate on projects tackling global challenges through activities ranging from building robots, to bioengineering, to coding, thus enhancing their critical thinking and innovation skills.

“We are incredibly proud of Mahalakshmi and Shaili for earning this global opportunity,” Ms. Shaila Bhamidipati, Principal, Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam said. “Their achievement reflects their dedication and the spirit of innovation we promote at Oakridge. We are excited to see them shine on the global stage.”
The MIT-Nord Anglia STEAM programme offers students an exclusive opportunity to experience life as a student at MIT. They will have a chance to engage directly with MIT faculty, explore MIT’s advanced laboratories, take part in immersive, hands-on workshops, and visit Harvard University.
