Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with enthusiastic participation at its Indoor Stadium located at Gandhi Maidan, aligning with this year’s global theme – “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” The event was organized in collaboration with the Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Namrup. The program commenced with a welcome address by Shri D. Hembram, Chief Manager (Human Resources), setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri Mohan Raj Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director, BVFCL, along with other dignitaries.

In his keynote address, CMD Shri Mohan Raj Shetty highlighted the growing global acceptance of yoga over the past decade under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized the positive impact of yoga on personal well-being and its contribution towards global peace and harmony. He also spoke about the importance of adopting the five-minute Y-Break (Yoga Break) protocol in workplaces for improved productivity and reduced stress. Director (Finance) Shri Subash Chandra Das addressed the gathering on how yoga plays a crucial role in achieving a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. Director (Production) Shri Pradip Kumar Banik and Deputy Commandant of CISF, Namrup, Pardeep Mor also shared personal insights on the benefits they have experienced through regular yoga practice.

Following the inaugural session, participants engaged in a 45-minute session of the Common Yoga Protocol, led by Shri Dipak Kejriwal, instructor from the Patanjali Yoga Samiti. The session included a series of yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation practices designed to rejuvenate the body and mind.


The event witnessed the participation of approximately 150 individuals, including BVFCL officials, CISF personnel, students, and local residents. The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, by the students of BVFCL H.S, School, followed by a tree plantation drive, symbolizing harmony with nature. Light refreshments were served to all participants after the event. BVFCL remains committed to fostering a healthy, mindful, and inclusive work culture through such meaningful initiatives.
