CBSE Results 2025: Over 44 Lakh Students Await Class 10 and 12 Outcomes

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is poised to release the much-anticipated Class 10 and Class 12 results for the academic year 2024-2025. As of May 12, 2025, official sources indicate that the results will be announced shortly, with students advised to monitor the official websites and DigiLocker for updates .

Examination Overview

This year, approximately 24.12 lakh students appeared for the Class 10 examinations, while around 17.88 lakh students took the Class 12 exams. The examinations commenced on February 15, 2025, with Class 10 concluding on March 18 and Class 12 wrapping up on April 4 .

Result Access Platforms

Once declared, students can access their results through multiple platforms:

• Official CBSE Websites:

  • cbseresults.nic.in
  • results.cbse.nic.in
• DigiLocker:
  • Students can download their digital marksheets by logging into digilocker.gov.in or using the DigiLocker app. A 6-digit security PIN, distributed to schools, is required for access .
• UMANG App:
  • The UMANG app provides another avenue for students to view their results and download digital marksheets
• SMS Services:
  • Students can receive their results via SMS by sending:
    • For Class 10: cbse10 <roll number>
    • For Class 12: cbse12 <roll number> <school number> <centre number>
  • Send the message to 7738299899 .
• Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS):
  • Dial 24300699 (preceded by the appropriate STD code) and follow the prompts to hear your results .

Passing Criteria and Grace Marks

To pass, students must secure a minimum of 33% in each subject and overall. Central Board of Secondary Education may award grace marks to students marginally falling short, ensuring they meet the passing criteria .

Post-Result Procedures

CBSE has revised its post-result processes to enhance transparency:

1. Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Sheet:
   • Students can request a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets.
2. Verification of Marks:
   • After obtaining the photocopy, students can apply for mark verification.
3. Re-evaluation:
   • If discrepancies persist, students may request a re-evaluation of specific answers.

Compartment Examinations

Students failing in one or two subjects will have the opportunity to appear for compartment exams scheduled for July 2025. Those failing in more than two subjects will need to repeat the academic year. Results for compartment exams are expected in August 2025 .
