In the Copa America Group B match, Argentina went forward within the 13th minute when the Actual Betis midfielder headed in on the far post after Lionel Messi’s mazy run and cross from the left facet of the penalty field. Though Uruguay had a larger share of possession and accomplished extra passes than their opponents the results ended with the winning of Argentina.
The result extended Argentina’s unbeaten run to 15 games since they lost in the semifinal of the last Copa America in 2019. Argentina’s next match is against Paraguay on Monday, while Uruguay takes on Chile the same day.
