Chinese immigrant arrested by SSB near Siliguri; 6th Chinese national arrested so far

Shiring Dorji, a Chinese national, was apprehended by Sashastra Seema Bal soldiers at Siliguri, West Bengal, while attempting to enter India from Nepal, officials said on Tuesday.

Dorji, 27, was arrested on Sunday while attempting to enter India through the Panitanki border in the Khadibadi block near Siliguri. He is the sixth Chinese national arrested while attempting to enter the state through various borders.

CHINESE IMMIGRANT ARRESTED

Dorji was apprehended by the SSB, who discovered fraudulent Aadhaar and PAN cards on him and turned him over to Khadibadi police.

The suspect also had three Indian bank ATM cards, mobile phones, and some Indian and Chinese money, according to police.

Dorji was arrested and taken into police custody after appearing in a Siliguri court.

“The influx of Chinese immigrants into India is getting worrying, and we must exercise greater caution.” “We’re also trying to figure out if he arrived alone or if he was accompanied by others,” a senior district police officer added.
