On the occasion of Children’s Day, the unit of National Service Scheme, Assam Engineering College visited Brahmaputra Children Home, an orphanage for the underprivileged children located on the outskirts of Guwahati.
The team spent the whole day with the beautiful children of the home singing, dancing and playing games with the kids. The day began with the cake cutting ceremony by the children followed by a cultural program by the student volunteers of AEC and the children of the home as well.
The children were given gifts which included notebooks, storybooks, stationery items, badminton racquets, board games, etc. It was a day filled with joy and laughter for both the students and the children.
Last but not the least, a tasty lunch was arranged by the students of NSS AEC for the children of the home after which the celebration ended with a vote of thanks from the management of the orphanage and the NSS AEC.
