The One Day International (ODI) series between India and Sri Lanka that was scheduled to start on July 13 has been postponed by five days owing to the rise in COVID positive cases in the Sri Lankan camp. The match has now been rescheduled to July 18.
Sri Lanka’s batting coach Grant Flower and data analyst GT Niroshan were tested positive for the coronavirus on their way back from the UK tour. And thereby, even the other members of the camp have to now undergo quarantine.
“India-Sri Lanka series to start on July 18 due to COVID-19 outbreak in home team camp,” said BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Saturday. The three ODI matches will now be held on July 18, 20 and 23 at the Premada Stadium.
