Borsing Bay, a home guard in Assam refused to take “a huge bribe amount” from the drug dealers and helped in the recovery of three kilograms of high-quality crystal methamphetamine worth Rs. 12crore. Assam Police DGP, Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta, got impressed and announced a reward of Rs.1lakh for his”selfless and honest act”.
“The lion’s share of credit for this drug haul goes to home guard Bay who will be reward by rupees one lac for his honestly,” Mahanta announced, in a bid to boost the morale of honest officers and jawans and set this as an inspiration for the entire force.
Police claimed that they raided a truck coming from Manipur in Karbi Anglong on Monday evening and recovered three kilograms of crystal methamphetamine tablets and also arrested two women from Tamil Nadu named Lashmi D and Punjabhiram, one man from Manipur named Khoiram Basanta Singha in connection with the crime.
