Assam has been performing worst according to the SDG index. Earlier it was school, education, and now it too falls in gender equality goals according to the indexes released by NITI Aayog.
It puts the question to the government regarding its promises in terms of the development of the state. This index is a tool used for monitoring the progress of all states and Union Territories which seeks to attain sustainable development goals.
Well, Assam was the first to adopt a state plan for SGDs- ‘Vision Assam 2030’. However, it failed miserably by performing third-worst in the index of the third edition of the SGD India index and also scoring 57 and ranked 26. On top of that the state, in overall tally has improved by two points this year.
