Odisha Police has recruited around 39 sportspersons, including 30 women through sports quota on Saturday. The department had earlier appointed ninety-six sportspersons to the state police force in six phases.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik stated in a virtual induction programme for the new entrants to the state police, that the state will always support its sportspersons and aid them in achieving their dreams uninterrupted.
It is not surprising that Odisha has been featured in the sports sector, predominantly as the Chief Minister has emphasized that they have “embarked on a journey to make Odisha a sports powerhouse”. “We have successfully hosted a number of national and international events. Hockey World Cup 2018 and Asian Athletics championship 2017 have been a great success for the state.” Stated CM Naveen Patnaik proudly.
