Earlier suicide incidents
A girl student from Upper Assam’s Lakhimpur district committed suicide in a similar situation in June, a day after the state government delayed board examinations because to the state’s ongoing Covid-19 problem.

The dead was a resident of the Korson Majkuri village, which is located 7 kilometres east of Lakhimpur town and is under the jurisdiction of the North Lakhimpur Sadar police station.
According to the mother of the girl, “She was studying diligently in order to achieve a decent grade in the Class X exam. She committed suicide at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Her father passed away a few years ago.”
In another inconceivable case in Assam, a 33-year-old man was found and detained by the Assam Police in Nagaon District after he was assumed to have committed suicide. Jyoti Prasad Bora, a criminal serving a 20-year term for killing one of his friends, was out on parole when he vanished and was presumed to have committed suicide, but the police had no idea it was all part of a plan to elope. He was later apprehended once again.
