A Labrador Retriever saved the life of his 18-year-old master Alex Loredo from a rattlesnake in San Diego, California. She was bringing the washing when she first heard the rattling of a rattlesnake which was coming from under the table outside.
Alex’s “heart just dropped” when she saw the snake and that was when the seven-year-old Labrador Retriever, Marley, came to her rescue and jumped at the snake. Alex said to NBC San Diego, “Before I could even turn, Marley had run out the door, pushed me out of the way, and gotten in between the snake and me.” “My heart just dropped. My first thought was, ‘Oh no, I’m going to lose my best friend,” she added.
The snake digs its fangs into the dog twice, “once on his tongue and the other his neck” and ran away quickly after injuring him. Alex quickly asked for medical help. “My heart was racing, and I didn’t know what was going to happen next. To be completely honest, I thought he was just going to die in the car,” she said.
