Indian javelin thrower Annu Rani has secured her Tokyo Olympics berth through alternate qualification route of World Rankings.
Recently, at the National Inter-State Athletics Championships in Patiala, Annu Rani had failed in her final bid to breach the Olympics qualification mark but her strong ranking of World No. 11 helped her bag the quota spot as just 15 throwers could earn the direct qualification by the end of the qualifying cut-off period of June 29.
Annu Rani will take part in the Women’s Javelin Throw, while MP Jabir will give it a shot in the 400m hurdles and Sprinter Dutee Chand will compete in the 100m and 200m events.
