Operation at Sonapur leads to consignment
On Saturday night, at Sonapur a huge consignment of heroin was seized by the Guwahati police.
According to the reports, Jt. CP, Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS leads a special team of police and intercepts a Bolera vehicle (Registration Number: MN-07D-3257) after getting information from an operation that had been conducted in Sonapur.
They seized a huge consignment of 100 soap cases of heroin with a net weight of 1.324 kilograms, according to reports.
Moreover, the consignment was tracked by the special team from Moreh to Churachanpur and then to Sonapur.
Traffickers held along with their consignments
According to reports, a mechanic had to be called to open the chamber as the packets of heroin were hidden carefully under a dashboard and inside the car’s rear taillights, after which the heroin was taken out.
The cops arrested 4 people who’re connected with the incident where 2 of them are mechanics. They have been identified as Khaiminlal Touthang (34), son of Ngamsei Touthang of Monnaphai, Churachandpur, Manipur, Seiminthang Mate (37), son of Thongkhojan Mate of Molnom, Churachandpur, Manipur, Paominthang Lhanghal (30), son of Paolet Lhanghal of M. Jamkim, Churachandpur, Manipur and Kailalson Khongsai (35) son of Thangsai Khongsai of Moraphai, Churachandpur, Manipur.
Furthermore, after the police tracked down the links following the interrogation of the drug traffickers, they launched an operation in Guwahati. The 2 people who were about the receive the consignment – Lulu Kuki (51 yrs), son of Seiboi Kuki of Tuibong, Churachandpur, Manipur, and Kamkhojim (56 yrs), son of T. Misao of Phaipijang, Dimapur, Nagaland.
