Assam Electoral office announces 27 awardees for ‘Best Electoral Practices Award 2021’

Assam electoral office has recently announced a list of 27 awardees who have been selected. 

On 25th of January the awards will be presented at the State Level Ceremony of National Voters’ Day at Pragjyoti ITA Center, Machkhowa in Guwahati. 

The chief electoral officer, announced the list of 27 awardees that have been selected for the ‘Best Electoral Practices Award 2021’.

Motive behind the award of Assam Electoral office 

The awardees will be appreciated with the award for the successful conduct of the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections, 2021. 

The motivation behind this initiative is to encourage individual and team accomplishments in various fields of election management. And also in recognition of the efforts and contribution of the officers. 

Reportedly, the Chief Guest of the occasion will be Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi. 

About the awardees list: 

The then additional chief electoral officer of Assam Vinod Seshan, has been selected for the Special State Award for his outstanding contribution towards election management. 

Also, three other officers/individuals have been selected under this category. And they are: 

1) Nabajit Pathak, Additional Deputy Commissioner-Election, Barpeta 

2) Dr. Hemanta Kumar Nath as District Level Master Trainer, Morigaon 

3) Rabeya Begum as SVEEP Nodal officer, Bilasipara 

Further, the Best Electoral Registration Officer/ Assistant Electoral Registration Officer award for their commendable job in the field of Electoral Roll Management, Complaint Disposal and SVEEP activities will be awarded to the following officers: 

1) Nabajit Pathak, Additional Deputy Commissioner-Election, Barpeta 

2) Dr. Hemanta Kumar Nath as District Level Master Trainer, Morigaon 

3) Rabeya Begum as SVEEP Nodal officer, Bilasipara 

Furthermore, Award for their commendable work in the aspects of Electoral Roll Management, Complaint Disposal and SVEEP activities goes to: 

1) Navanita Hazarika, as ERO, Silchar LAC, Silchar Election District 

2) Dinchengfa Boruah, as ERO, Jorhat LAC, Jorhat Election District 

3) Bharat Bhusan Bora, as AERO, Jamunamukh LAC, Hojai Election District 

4) Debajit Dutta, as AERO, Naoboicha LAC, Lakhimpur Election District 

Under the category of Best BLOs 15 Booth Level Officers have been selected for their contribution towards improving the quality of Electoral Roll and impactful SVEEP activities. 

The names of the BLOs are as follows: 

1) Sushma Bhattacharjee, Kariganj Election District 

2) Rameswar Chauhan, West Karbi Anglong Election District 

3) Asheda Khatun, South Salmara Election District 

4) Kusho Bala Roy, Dhubri Election District 

5) Rita Dutta, Kokrajhar Election District 

6) Mahadeb Sarkar, Bijni Election District 

7) Fridina Sangma, Kamrup Election District 

8) Sankar Das, Kamrup Election District 

9) Paneswar Baro, Kamrup Metro Election District 

10) Basu Mali, Kamrup Metro Election District 

11) Mira Hazarika, Mangaldoi Election District 

12) Hemi Borah, Biswanath Election District 

13) Renu Narzary Wary, Gohpur Election District 

14) Hasina Begum Choudhury, Hojai Election District 

15) Utpal Arandhara, Charaideo Election District 

A press release from the Election Commission of India, mentioned the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, headed by Chief Electoral Officer, Nitin Khade, has been selected for the National Award for ‘Best Electoral Practices Award, 2021’. 

The selection has been made under the category of ‘Best Performing State’ for ‘Election Management’. 

Lastly, as per information the selection of the awardees have been done based on the overall performance. 

The overall performance in various areas of election management during the Legislative Assembly Elections conducted in the State in 2021 will be the selection criteria.
