MLA from Mariani constituency Rupjyoti Kurmi has been expelled from Congress. This comes after the MLA hinted about his exit from the party with joining BJP today. The leader however had different plans and was already in talks to shit to BJP.
“I’m leaving Congress as High Command in Delhi & Guwahati leaders give priority to elderly leaders only. We’d told them Congress has good chance of coming to power this time & we shouldn’t forge alliance with AIUDF as it would be a mistake. It indeed was”, says the MLA.
He goes on to add that Congress isn’t listening to its young leaders. That’s why its situation is worsening in all states. He will meet Assembly Speaker & tender my resignation….Rahul Gandhi is unable to shoulder leadership, if he’s at the helm party won’t move forward.
The Congress MLA reportedly had a confidential meeting with the Assam BJP leadership two days back.
Kurmi had demanded the post of APCC president from the party high command.
