Body building eight-time world champion in Arambam Boby Singh,, is in Sikkim to promote body building as well as to support the on-going 11th Federation Cup.


Speaking to this correspondent, Arambam Boby Singh, the champion body builder from Manipur, said “Body building is a disciplined sport as the body builders are very focused on their health, food consumption and so on.

So, it is necessary for the youngsters to join this sport to live a disciplined and healthy life.”


The current generation is opting body building as they are focused about their fitness and this sport also help the youth from doing away from the social evils like drug, he added.


Singh, who had previously visited Sikkim 18 years ago to attend a function at Pangthang near Gangtok, said, “The development and change that I see today is really exceptional.

Body Building Champion Talks About Cleanliness

I am really mesmerized by the cleanliness and the beauty that the State. I visit Nathu La and Tsomgo Lake and even toured the market places nearby. I am really happy to know, see that there are no littering and no plastic bottles anywhere.

I acknowledge the effort of the State government along with the people for managing of plastic waste in the State. I want to say that we all NE States must learn from Sikkim.”


On the on-going Federation Cup, he said the championship of such repute is being held in the Northeast for the first time.

“I was really happy to know that Sikkim one of the States of NE was hosting the 11th Federation Cup, so I am here to extend all necessary support and help to Indian Body Building Federation and BBAS in making the event a memorable and successful one.”
