The 1200 crore project of All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) is all set to open its services from the end of this year. The project located in Changsari has its 85% of work completed till now. AIIMS will accommodate 125 MBBS seats.
The 750-bedded hospital will have multiple specialty and super specialty departments.
“Work for first phase that includes the Medical College and the OPD (Out Patient Department) block is 85 per cent complete. We will try to inaugurate it by November last week or December first week. Simultaneously, hostel and housing work is progressing in the first phase and will be ready by November-December. Ancillary buildings like sub-stations, service stations, laundry, shopping- complex are getting the finishing touches. Mechanical jobs for air-conditioning, fire-fighting, electrical are being done. The civil work part is fully completed. Once the mechanical work is done the buildings will get operational,” said an official working on the AIIMS Guwahati project.
