On Monday, the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said while speaking to the media that it is not mandatory to take vaccines but those who are non-vaccinated and do not want to take vaccines must stay at home.
If not vaccinated then stay at home: CM Sarma
According to a report by DY365, CM Sarma said that people who are not vaccinated will not be allowed inside the government buildings and other public places and can stay at home, meanwhile showing the vaccine certificates will be mandatory.
Union Health Ministry does not entertain forcible vaccination without obtaining consent
The Union Health Ministry in its reply to Supreme Court said that government does not promote forced vaccination without obtaining the consent of an individual.

“It is submitted that the direction and guidelines released by Government of India and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare do not envisage any forcible vaccination without obtaining the consent of the concerned individual,” the ministry said.
