Tom Shields, a member of the gold medal- winning 400 medley relay at the 2016 Rio Games, delivered a breathtaking performance in the 100-meter butterfly at the U.S. Olympic swim trials on Saturday and secured his entry into the Tokyo Olympics.

world-recordholder Caeleb Dressel finished in the first place. Luca Urlando earned his ticket to Tokyo by finishing third.
