Sikkim: Pakyong orchid grower B.B. Gurung received first prize in orchid exhibition and second prize for orchid flower arrangement at international conference-cum-workshop (hybrid mode) on agro technology, value addition, global trade and sustainability of medicinal and nutraceutical orchids, and orchid show held in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
The seminar was organised by The Orchids Society of India (TOSI) and Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem, at the Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University from March 25 to 27.
Sikkim Event Joined By Participants Abroad
At the event, Gurung displayed various types of orchids including cymbidium orchid hybrids. He also gave a PowerPoint presentation on production and utilization of cymbidium orchid hybrids.
The programme was attended by participants from all over the India and abroad with some jointing the event online from the USA, Malaysia, Nepal and other countries.
