It seems that even educated and esteemed people stoop down to their lowest as to abuse minor househelp physically. This is an instance of a couple from Bangladesh.
Md Tanvir Ahsan, an NGO official, and his wife Nahid, a lawyer by profession, were detained by concerned authorities on the night of July 2 Shegunbagicha in Dhaka’s Topkhana Road area. They were detained for physically abusing their 12-year-old minor.
The victim, identified as Sweety, hails from Kishoreganj’s Mithamoin Upazila. Police found several injuries in the minor’s body, rescued and admitted her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The police were able to save the little girl after the family’s neighbour had posted photos of the victim on Facebook and requested help, which was later forwarded as information to the media and public relations wing of the Bangladesh Police by a journalist who had discovered the post.
