On December 28, the Assam Government promoted Indrani Baruah, IPS to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Notification from Government:

In a notification issued by the Assam Government on December 28, it stated that ”In the interest of public service, Smti. Indrani Baruah, IPS (SPS-2008), Commandant, 4th APBn, Kahilipara, Guwahati is promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Super Time Scale-1 of IPS in Level 13 A in the Pay Matrix with effect from 01/01/2022.”

Acknowledged for her outstanding service:

The Assam Government acknowledged Indrani Baruah with the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for their “outstanding service on the ocassion of India’s 74th Independence Day.

At the same time Kangkan Jyoti Saikia, IPS who is presently holding the charge of Commandant, 3rd APTF Bn, Khajubeel, Udalguri has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.

The notification further added, ”In the interest of public service, Shri Kangkan Jyoti Saiki, IPS (SPS-2008), Commandant, 3rd APTF Bn, Khajubeel, Udalguri is promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police in Super Time Scale-1 of IPS in Level 13 A in the Pay Matrix with effect from 01/01/2022.”
